The Skinner Park Advisory Council have been following the proposed development at the old Salvation Army site on Monroe St. located just a block from Skinner Park. We believe after careful consideration and research, that the negatives outweigh the positives and that the development as proposed will have a negative impact on Skinner Park as well as the larger community.
The current proposal calls for 260 units to be built with 9 on-site parking spaces in the (Blue Area).
The current proposal also calls for half of the property (yellow area) to be removed from the planned development which means that in the future there is no requirement for community process or input for any development on these parcels. The developers will be able to build “by right” unless there is a zoning change.
